Internationalize Jerusalem. Most logical solution if you ask me. Too bad there are too many extreme crazies for it to work properly.

Jon Stewart did have an excellent idea on his show when he suggested we declare Jerusalem an international city. I think that should be expanded to include all holy and religious areas. Politics and Religion don’t mix.

          1) Why is a COMEDIAN's peace proposal news?

          2) Why is a COMEDIAN's peace proposal better than anything the Bush Administration can come up with?

          Oh wait...

Easy for many to suggest that Israel gives over their most prised possession to the "world" community.

The Temple of the Mount is sacred to at least three religions as well, maybe start by opening that site to all who wish to visit?

            LOL

This is the best way to resolve this issue and it will work too.

what a dote...I can't believe that you would take a comedian's (who knows nothing of Middle Eastern culture or politics)view on this seriously...Hell, let's have Glenn Beck give us HIS ideas and we'll combine the two, roll the dice and hope for the best...Wait, maybe we can include views from the likes of the Dixie Chicks, George Clooney, and the rest of the "Hollywood Elites"...

                You guys are a joke...

A good idea is a good idea regardless of where it comes from......we all know simple works best, it certainly has that going for it. We all know that what's going on now (and for several thousand years) is not working. Continuous War and death is no joke.

Wow! A fourth rate comedian offers a solution to the mid east crisis and it makes news. Some of the news services must be pretty desperate for fillers. Then again, Stewart isn't what I would call a comedian so may be would be an improvement for him. Try flipping burgers Jon.

Im HUGE fan of the daily show and I do believe John Stewert is much more informed and intelligent than the average comedian but thats what he is, a comedian

But Im not sure why people would assume this is some great idea he came up with on his own, on the spot, during an interview, while the rest of the world somehow just never happend to think of it lol

Im a liberal and even im getting sick of this overtly liberal junk on here

You libs continue to be the most ignorant people in the country. Don't you get it. The arabs DO NOT WANT PEACE. It has been offered to them numerous times. The president of Iran came out today and stated simply. THE ONLY WAY TO END THE CRISIS IN LEBANON IS TO WIPE ISRAEL OFF THE FACE OF THE WORLD. Please libs, tell me what part don't you get. Turkey, Jordan, Kuwait, Egypt and Saudia Arabia are not particularly great friends of Israel but have you noticed them patiently sitting on the sidelines waiting for Hezbollah to be dismantled. They are all petrified what could happen in the region if Iran, Syria and Hezbollah continue gaining power. Their stance at the moment is simple: THE ENEMY OF MY ENEMY IS MY FRIEND. Please you bleeding heart liberals, do some serious research on history and stop watching Jon Stewart for your news.

Let me rephrase that. 75% of arabs do want peace and democracy but it simply can not flourish because of the islamic extremists. It's the 25% that must be dealt with and the only alternative is harshly. You can not sit down over tea and speak peace with people that only live to spread fear and violence. Wake up already people.

freedom fighter your misinformed. We never tried to sit down and have tea we just went to war with hardly any support. We bombed them and of course righteously killed some of the bad guys but we also killed innocent civilians if not maimed them. I agree, most arabs do want peace but see it from their point of view. They see us as hypocrites even though we believe we are helping them. You also have to take into account our past foreign policy with the middle east and how at one time our leaders supported both osama and hussein.

callmeeddy: I am confused by your post. We are not at war with Lebanon or Hezbollah, it is Israel that is at war with Hezbollah, you know, the cowards that hide and shoot their weapons from schools, mosques and hospitals, you know, the ones that use innocent children as human shields. We support both Israel and the good people of Lebanon but this is not our war. Hezbollah murdered 8 israeli soldiers and kidnapped 2 others for no apparent reason. Getting to Iraq, the hypocratic United Nations passed 17 resolutions that saddam continued to defy, why?. Why allow the UN to pass, I repeat, 17 resolutions without acting on them. Did we really have a choice but to really find out what was going on inside the murdering dictators county. The same thing is now going on in Iran. Do we sit idly by and allow them to figure out a way to destroy all western civilizations and pass more pathetic resolutions??? I repeat, Iran wants to wipe both of us off the map, GET IT???

Internationalizing Jerusalem? I dunno about that, but his idea for putting troops in Israel & separating the Palestinians wouldn't work, Ariel Sharon spent a lot of time & money on a fence (that even cut into Palestinian land) to separate (or segregate if you will) the Israelis & Palestinians &, you know, nothing makes people happier than blockading & stealing from them simultaneously.

Israel's current war with Lebanon won't get rid of Hezbollah, all they're going to do is spread into other countries, Iran, Syria, ISRAEL.. And Bush's support of the way Israel's behaving is just going to make these people & their followers not want to listen to us or reason even more, because it'll make them feel like even if Israel starts a war with some random neighboring Arab country & even goes so far as to attack civilian areas (much like they've been doing in Palestinian areas for at least the last 6 years), the US is just always going to support Israel, and this time, Israel seems more wrong.
