jazz - I'm Irish. Who's been talking about me? After I get out of this bar I'm gonna call my Italian friend and we're gonna take care of business. Meanwhile, I told my Polish friend about this and he's jumping in his car and driving to the U.S. immediately.

      Thanks for the heads up!

Because to be a jew is to be an ethnicity, while not all people of the jewish faith are jewish in ethnicity. To be Irish or Polish you just have to be from those crappy nations at one point of your family history. One is racism or biggotry, the other is just funnny, because of how true it is! :)

My family is German. To this day my in-laws run into bigotry for being German, even though my mother-in-law's family tried to help their Jewish friends and my father-in-law spent 6 years in Siberia in a prison camp. Yet some, would rather never discern or forget.

Mr. Gibson has an awful disease. To pin him up as a poster child for more pity is another form of discrimination. No matter how wrong it wrong it was a product of an illness. The hate mongering that surrounds it comes from other wise heathly people who just choose to use it for their own agendas, as if no other religion or race in this world has ever been insulted.

mind, the netscape terms of service clearly state in Secion IV.4.b that 'Only the first comment on any article must be relevant.'

I believe the tropic of this page is the way the media covered the story of Mel's DUI. Some even went so far as to get drunk to see if they lost control. A situation of the media reporting on something they know nothing about. Here we are talking about something else.

it's said that people are only honest when they are angry and when they are drunk. Don't be too quick to call his words a mistake. And people obviously do care.

He represents himself as a upstanding Christian and lots of people look up to him. He's a public figure and he's made himself subject to this type of scrutiny.

nope, that's ridiculous. I've said things in my life when angry and/or drunk that I would have never said otherwise. Alcohol is not truth serum. Everyone just loves the drama.

Does anyone know what Mel actually said? Other than just "anti-semetic" remarks? I would love to know what he actually said that is causing this type of uproar. I don't get why poeple are bashing him for being anti semetic, he was drunk and angry... lots of poeple say things when there drunk that they wouldn't say when their sober. just leave the guy alone for christ sake... all these uptight poeple are just looking for a person to blame...just get over it you weirdo's... he's just a person, nothing more, nothing less.

He said something bad enough that he felt the need to apologize to the Jewish community.

What I said is not a fact, it's a saying. But sayings are often grounded in truth. If you are an anti-semetic, of course you are not going to say it aloud. But you might when you are drunk and angry. Why is that so hard to believe?

Doesn't mean everyone would, but some might. I've seen guys confess to having crushes on girls they've never admitted to when they were sober. Same principle and I've seen it first hand.

jaxmanjoe- I’m not complaining, just seems pointless to have a thread and not talk about the subject.

"Only the first comment on any article must be relevant." And on a personal note, i don't really consider "awesome" to be relevant, more of a vague statement rather than a comment.

jaxmanjoe- Now your just contradicting yourself, “Only the first comment on any article must be relevant” None of my posts were first.
