OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a stitch in my side after that one !! I think my favorite was the big guy that spun himself around real quick and fell....ROFLOL !!!!
Stoners...don't you worry one bit about those sinks, or negative ratings !!! If you make even one person smile because of your posts, then you have done an excellent thing !! Have a GREAT and BLESSED day babe !!!
I don't see what's wrong with someone "sinking" something they don't like. Isn't that the whole concept?
And as for why someone would specifically sink this posting...probably b/c some users are here just for news and don't want videos. That's a perfectly fine reason to sink something.
I understand stratton. What gets me is if somebody doesnt like a certain story or video why in the heck dont they just go on? Whats the big deal, this is so childish and it causes way to much anger on the threads because somebody is going to say something about it every time they see one.Is this what Netscape wants? I just dont see any point in it.And this is to anyone no matter if its the Netscape team or any of the members or the ones hiding behind false names. You seriously have problems if you cant laugh every now and then. --I can care less about the sinks--sink all you want if that makes you happy.I dont care!!! Ive got so dang many messages today over all the sinks, its crazy. All this anger, the attitudes is just disgusting..But I will tell all you this((the sinkers)),they are plenty of humor videos. And I will continue to submit them as long as netscape doesnt have it listed in the rules that we arent allowed. So sink all you want.
There are 27 (soon to be 28) votes for the video - it would take about 32 sinks to gray this baby out. There aren't that many anchors/navigators to get the job done.
It made the Homepage anyway - no harm no foul
One more prediction:
You will NEVER see Netscape staff sink each other's submissions.
Mark my words, that is how the Digg mentality operates.
I sunk this because I didn't like it and I didn't feel inclined to "debate" on the topic of an AFV video. No big deal. No need to take it personally.
And as for Netscape staff "NEVER" sinking each other's submissions, well C.K. sunk one of mine earlier:
Neophile,
ok, 1 sink. I'd like to see more examples of this.
You may want to check out user dickbur, account's been created today and he/she's running rampant sinking everything in sight. Not a big deal, since this person is tagging everyone.
I've told others here that I was going to take the high road and not sink any more stories, I'm seriously reconsidering my position seeing the rampant abuse that's starting to take place.
I know a "debate" on an AFV video seems pointless, but let's not forget that there are actual human beings behind these avatars. A lot of people see this so-called feature as hurtful and demoralizing, especially when Netscape staff jumps into the fray.
However, I do want to thank you Neo for at least having the cajones to show up on this thread. unlike the gutless cowards you have for coworkers.
Again, it's not personal. People should be sinking things based on the merits of the content, not the person submitting it (no different than voting).
We will be on top of abusive sinkers and sock-puppet sinkers just as we are with abusive and sock-puppet voters.
Honestly, your response doesn't offer much in the way of reassurance.
I may not take a "sink" personally, but others obviously have. There are quite a few regular users that are absolutely p*ssed right now. The retaliatory sinks have begun.
Netscape really needs to learn how to deal with the general public. Additionally, this issue really needs to be addressed via blog post and another thread dedicated to it.
I don't think Netscape personnel should have the right to vote or sink! They need to stay neutral or they lose credibility. Aren't they just supposed to maintain the site, put up posts, etc? How can they be allowed to vote up or sink an article?
I see that I have come back to a much worse managed site, oh well that is what happens when big corporations are behind the scenes. They think they are so omnipotent.
I don't think the Netscape team should promote or sink stories. They should be able to voice their opinons in the commentary, or one on one with the submitor. If the poster community wishes to sink a story so be it.
I sent a note to one of the Netscape team today asking why had given a sink to a story last night. The response was "I didn't like it" . Maybe they didn't find humour in it...thats ok....just move on. At the same time this piece was running I viewed an other story, which, I found not in the best of taste, but had several posters going head to head on it...I moved on.
I Looked at the sinks on both stories...I guess the Netscape anchor doesn't like humour, but enjoys watching posters screaming, not debating on a story that really wasn't worth a debate.
My suggestion is ...keep the sink...let the posters do the sinking. Use your time to remove abusive posters and their blatant hate. Publish the names of users that are using multiple ids from the same ip.

and thank you for the laugh on this one, Stoners, I had a blast watching this one. The refreshing posts that you put out that keep us laughing instead of throwing hateful crap at each other is what makes my day. They can sink all they want, but it won't make me stop watching your videos and reading your stories.
Let the customers do the stories, and the staff keep to their job of watching over the hate-mongers and the double/triple ip address users. Read all you want for content, but keep your finger off the sink button. We can choose for ourselves what we want to watch.
