Apparently this quirky animated tale of birds swarming out of a cuckoo clock to force a man to get out of bed has something to do with British history but to us Yanks its just a goofy little cartoon. WARNING: catchy song contained within.

Hey Indy, was that the very first 'rap' song? I can't make heads or tails of it so I just figured it to be so.

I've translated the "Clerkenwell-speak" but first I had to translate it into Latin because there's no direct translation from Clerkeneese to modern English. So what sounds to YOU like (or something like)

"Flylee doppledoo da doppledee lee boppin boddl"

        translates as

"I'm feeling peckish, hon. Did you eat all the dirt?"

        and the chorus

"dop de doo, dop de deedlee dum"

        is simply

" Who let the dogs out?"

second verse, same as the first. Sing it with me now!

Never underestimate the axis powers of the cuckoo.

( London just wasn't prepared for this type of blitzkrieg!)
