Great, fox news is now putting people on the air that actually promote assassinating a presidential candidate. Could you imagine if say CNN or NBC had someone on who said we should take out McCain, the backlash from the right wing would be like nothing seen before. But of course, the right will defend this and fox till the death.

Roger Ailes, the Faux Fox Facts News Director, has already given her a raise! Roger, the most biggotted man in news, and they gave him an audience to prove his bigotry when he got that long time journalist award last year (all captured and replayed on CSPAN)!
This is what Reagan hoped for when he vetoed the Truth in Telecommunications Act and why repugs still oppose the Fairness Act! No wonder Cheney only watches Faux facts!

This has gone beyond firing someone and fining the station, this is grounds to remove them from the airways all together. If you think about it they are advocation for the assassination of a would be president and even putting the nation in the line of a civil war because trust me on this blacks will not sit ideally bye on this one. You kill Obama and it will not end good! A person who sees this as a way to stop this nation from having a black president is making a grave mistake!

A civil war here would end our occupation of Iraq in a heartbeat. In fact, it'd probably drag us out of the ME altogether. What's particularly sad about this election is that those on the Right were supposedly so concerned about our image within the international community before Bush got into office. I don't think these people have a clue how much more shamefully our reaction to having a black candidate is being viewed as compared to an extra-marital affair or a 1.5 second display of a woman's bare breast.

You know, the more I watch this tape the more I ask myself how does one defined this as her joking? I see what i call the NY police effect, make excuse for this and there will be another, until it happens to you! This was not said in jest on her part to say so is to diminish the seriousness of this statement.

Liek you libbies can counter the Christian Conservative/Neo-Conservative Meedia juggernaught.
If you check out Liz Trottas bio (graciously supplied by Beau) you see that she has time spent as a teacher.
I quote:
""She has taught Journalism at Stern College of Yeshiva University.""
---
We got our craazie right wing 'edjamacators' throughout all our nations skools.
I know, I know ... lots of us craazie righties go off bout how colleges are 'Bastions of Liburalism". But hey - thats just another message that we repeat often that allows our right wing messengers 'special treatment'.
I keep tellin yall ... its all we righties care bout is 'special treatment'.
Fact is ... ALL my edjamacation has been at the hands of right wing ideeologues.
Pick ANY of our Right Wing Mantras ...
- Libural Media
- Anti-Jesus Liburals
- Libural Universities
- Slanted this
- Slanted that
- Libural against Xmas.
Its all calculated to give us 'SPECIAL' treatment.

Speaking of mantras...
She taught at Yeshiva University which is a PRIVATE JEWISH UNIVERSITY.
That kind of eliminates the christian conservative from the mix.
And the fact that it's a private university eliminates the problem most have with liberal institutions of higher learning being supported by tax dollars.
OHM, OHM!

Thanks for parsin hairs joeeddie!
We always need to make our right wing re-stipulations and our conditional phraseology in order to support this - one of our favorite stereotypes bout Universities bein 'Trainin Ground' for Communism!!
After all, TYPICALLY when we shout our angry mantra bout "LIBURAL UNIVERSITIES" - we dont say, "Well, cept for a few thousand of THIS kinda university and a few thousand of THAT kinda university.
But see, that kinda vitiates our whole purpose - which is to DEMAND special dispensation and un-accountability to DO what we complain bout them Libbies doin.
You OF ALL MEMBERS - should be familiar with THIS tacktic, joeeddie!
See how we work it, yall?

So your angry mantra towards christian conservatives should be applied to a Jewish woman? And your angry mantra about liberalism in universities being just a smokescreen should apply to universites that aren't supported by tax dollars? I do see how you work it. You work it just like a job.

Well, I been called lotsa things joeeddie, but I dont think I evea been called 'angry'.
And since Ima Christian, I dont see what your point is.
But I hear ya! Its TAXES that you are opposed to! You think that ... universities that are partly supported by goverment, should be legislated and ruled by us CULTURE WARRIORS to preach for the dismantlin of goverment.
Yeah ... there it is ... more right wing double standards.
Hey! Speakin of jobs! I do believe you feel its a JOB to follow me round ... counterin my freedom of speech with aspersions of every kind ... sometiems as joeeddie, and sometimes as lovemylibs!
Well, everbody needs a goal ... a focus in their lief. Im glad you got me joe.

I love paying my share of taxes. I don't love my tax dollars funding any (read liberal or conservative) ideological advantages in institutions of higher learning. I'm surprised that you don't feel the same way. If I were following you around, my first post on this thread would have been after your first post. Remind me again how your oft repeated whine about special treatment and christian conservatives applies to a Jewish woman. Did Fox make her change religions?

I was speakin directly to an associated issue of her bein a TEACHER, joe. If you go to Liz Trotta's BIO, supplied by loverman, you see the reference to her TEACHIN.
As an American, Im within my rights to expand on that portion of the story, should I freely choose to.
I realize this goes against your OCD of demandin that all commenters speak specifically, and ONLY within the narrow confines of a story ... but I liek the way I can see correspondin issues beyond the tight little boundaries you liek.
Personally, I LIEK the way you have focused your lifes disdain for University Edjamacation! It distracts the nation from the thousands of Right Wing institutions that force a right wing ideeologie down the throats of our malleable young poeple.
Well ... liek our efferts to force kids to learn and believe in our Christian Conservative view of the world ... which happens to be JUST 6,000 years!!

You should feel either honored that I dedicated my comments to you ... or embarrassed that you reacted so predictably.
Either way ... I had a good tiem!

Tight little boundaries. I like that. It would be like you were saying that all things can't be explained by saying that someone is a "christian conservative" or a "bleeding heart liberal".

The FCC responds to the number of complaints from viewers, when considering fining stations for indecency. At least, that's what they've told us.
Here's how to contact the FCC:

I wonder if this will cost Fox as much as Janet Jackson cost CBS...

cushi - The problem with filing a complaint is the guy running the FCC is a wing nut planted there for just this kind of thing...why do you think a guy like Rush can call for a riot in one of our stated and have nothing happen to him but he spent years taking down any Liberal voice on the air. When this administration has been remove we as a nation would know how close we came to a dictatorship. They have put so many thing in place to control the thinking of the citizens and the laws that governed them...and they are still there, like our judges and AG, remember the attempt to make their appointment life long?

I'm sure you know from the days of being in the service that complaints are dealt with in unfavorable ways.
I'll complain to the sponsors of the show and let them know I won't support their companies products. I will also let them know I will tell people what their company supports.
I'll hit them in their wallets.

Judging from your other comments below, you're being serious, not sarcastic.
Do you think it's more destructive to show nipples or to advocate assassination of a presidential candidate who's ALREADY received several death threats?
Since you appear to need a reminder, let me point out that nipples never killed anyone. In fact, they nurtured most of us to life...at least those of us who didn't crawl out from under a rock.

Yes, some people are "crass" - as slate has noted - with their comments about specific people or politicians. This is a blog where a few hundred (never seen it be any more than that ) people make and read comments - it is NOT national TV.
Ms. Trotta made her remarks for the WORLD to see and hear.
That is a BIG difference. The fact that you try to imply it is no different shows your bias and hypocrisy ...

Though the left here has said all these things about Bush and doing that is wrong. But so is what this lady said and it should be addressed.
Regardless of how sensitive it is when we on the right hear about Bush, it is doubly so for Obama, if one can honestly step back and look with un-jaundiced eyes. Look, this is a historical election, with the chance for African Americans to put one of their own in the most prestigious office in the world. Yes I think they take it very seriously and would take Obama's assassination as a white conspiracy and I'd think that an all out race war would be a very real possibility if that happens.
I have an Idea, how about everyone stop saying such things about Bush Obama or any politician, what good does it accomplish to insult others by saying you hate someone enough to be ok with their life being taken from them because of politics?

I certainly won't (and never have) advocate the death of President Bush! However, he rightfully deserves all of the criticism heaped upon him and I reserve the right to do so. You also have the right to criticize Obama, Hillary, et al.
But to advocate and joke about assassination is beyond the pale. It seems that the Hannity's, Limbaughs, O'Reilly's, etc...the lunatic right fringe feel they have the right to make outrageous and dangerous statements that are outright lies 99% of the time. BUT...they still have the RIGHT to do so. Just not assassination.
Civilized people don't wish the death of anyone. Even in war, the preferred action would be to take prisoners. But more often than not, you hear right wingers saying "just nuke 'em" A real class act!

I have seen a lot of things said about bush, i have yet to see a DEM call for his assassination on national TV! If you are going to make a point about this womans comment please do so. However linking it to comments made of bush is in a way lessening and more over playing politics with a call for assassination.

I find the idea of comparing a bad thing to a bad thing never justifies either bad thing. Is that what you are trying to do?
It is wrong to suggest or imply that the killing of the president, hopeful candidates, hard line liberals or conservatives, members of any race or religion, or innocent civilians is justified or warranted. It's not hypocrisy, it's just plain wrong.

This is the results of bad behavior going unchecked. This is about the spoiling and destruction of what was once a great nation. This the results of letting the fools run the world. When bullying goes unpunished this is what you get. This nation will be making a fatal error is the reelect a republican president!

"This the results of letting the fools run the world."
--Actually, I think it's the result of allowing *thieves* to run the world. The people running the country for the last 8 years have demonstrated their contempt for the law time and time again. I no longer believe we can handle these people with kid gloves. I keep hearing that we need a President who is going to heal a divided nation, blah, blah, blah...SCREW that. People who voted to re-elect Bush in 2004 and who have tried to do a Willie Horton on Obama don't give a rat's arse about healing any freaking nation and I don't want that (at least not in and of itself) to be a priority in the next President. I will be "healed" when the criminal Republicans who have destroyed our country the last 8 years are brought to justice. THAT is what will mak me feel better. Then we can talk kumbaya, etc.
